13th OSAIRI General Assembly Compelted Successfully

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammad Ghasem Manouchehri, President of the Association, voting members, national and military officials, and representatives of various organizations at the conference hall of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences. At the beginning of the session, the Acting Secretary-General’s Office presented a report on the Association’s activities, while the heads of provincial associations outlined their performances and future plans.

At the opening of the assembly, the minutes of the previous General Assembly were read and approved by the members. In addition, the proposed budget submitted by the Board of Directors was reviewed and ratified.

The heads of the following independent committees — recognized by international or continental federations (IFs/AFs) and holding voting rights within the OSAIRI General Assembly — also presented their activities, annual calendars, future plans, and proposals:

• Iranian Obstacle/OCR Committee
• Iranian Pelota Vasca Committee
• Iranian Cheerleading/ Cheer Sport Committee
• Iranian Draughts/ Checkers Committee
• Iranian Go/ Weiqi Committee
• Iranian Bridge / Card Games Committee
• Iranian Combat Sports Committee

Subsequently, the Association’s central committees presented their performance reports, suggestions, and critiques. Reports and proposals from the Marketing and Economic Affairs Committee, the Disabled and Para-Sports Committee, the Armed Forces Committee, and the Sports Tourism Committee were also reviewed and discussed.

The Association’s Election Committee then conducted the election process for the positions of Secretary-General and Expert Advisor. By an overwhelming majority vote of the Assembly members, Mr. Ferdows Moraghi was elected as Secretary-General and Mr. Hassan Hamzeh as Expert Advisor.

Among the major topics discussed and approved during the Assembly were:

• Reviewing the qualification pathway for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and the 2030 Asian Games in the OCR discipline, along with related challenges
• Approval of the Iranian National OCR Obstacle Sports Team’s participation in the 2026 World Championships at the Beijing Olympic Village
• Approval of the Iranian National Biathle Team’s participation in the 2026 Central Asian Championships in Kazakhstan
• Reviewing the selection process for the national mind sports teams (Draughts, Bridge, and Go) for the Asian Championships in Kazakhstan and the 2026 World Championships in South Korea and 1^st Asian Mind Sports Games 2027.
• Approval of the Iranian National Cheerleading Team’s participation in the 2026 Asian Cheerleading Championships in Malaysia
• Approval of the Iranian national teams in Pillow fight, MMA, and Oxyan combat divisions to participate in the 2026 World Championships in Kyrgyzstan
• Approval of membership for three new provinces by a majority vote of the Assembly members

In another part of the Assembly, representatives from various sectors — including the beauty industry, the International Peace Institute, Hamadan Municipality, and Law Enforcement authorities — presented proposals that are scheduled to be reviewed during the next Assembly.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was announced that preparations are underway for hosting the 2027 Humanitarian International Games in Iran, in cooperation with several international federations, as part of the Association’s future agenda.
