History

 Recognized in 2021 as the international governing body for Ninja Competitions, Obstacle Racing, Adventure Racing, related disciplines and events by the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) and the Alliance of Independent Recognized Members of Sports (AIMS) in 2021, World Obstacle, the Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO) is a not-for-profit international association run by volunteers to develop obstacle sports and represent the needs of its members worldwide. 

National member federations in over 100 countries represent their athletes and communities in the FISO Congress and propose and vote on policies and rules for their benefit. The Congress and Executive Committee are responsible for taking the main decisions for the organisation and implement recommendations for each sport.

Founded in 2014 and formalized in 2018 in Switzerland, FISO was granted Observer Status of GAISF by a unanimous vote of all GASIF members, including all Olympic and IOC recognized sports.
